LSPA Annual Fund Campaign

The performing arts provide an immensely rewarding experience to participants and audiences alike.  The supportive patrons, donors, parents, students and advocates of the Lafayette Society for Performing Arts are the backbone of our mission to provide performing arts resources, education, and experiences that are accessible to everyone in our community, regardless of age, ability, level of education, or socioeconomic background.  Who could resist being a part of this beautiful thirty-eight-year adventure?

We are extremely fortunate to live in a community that recognizes the benefits of the arts, especially for our students.  Offering professional level educational opportunities and experiences for young performing artists is the heart of the daily operations of LSPA.  Through the Lafayette Center for Dance, the Lafayette Theatre Academy, and the Young Singers of West Georgia, we welcome over 400 students into our building each week for classes.  Within our classes, we see talents and skills continuously strengthened, while also observing the development of commitment, motivation, confidence, focus, adaptability, leadership, self-discipline, and so many more life skills that will benefit our students for years to come.

Bringing exceptional productions featuring dance, music, theatre, and storytelling to Troup County guests and residents is a privilege for everyone at LSPA.  Each March, the Azalea Storytelling Festival draws visitors from across our nation to enjoy the art of storytelling at its best.  The Lafayette Ballet Company produces two full-scale ballet productions each year, featuring student dancers, community participants, and professional guest artists.  The Lafayette Center for Dance offers recitals and repertoires that highlight the instruction offered in their classes.  The Young Singers of West Georgia hold two remarkable concerts each year, one during the holiday season and one each spring.  The Lafayette Theatre Company presents four mainstage productions each year, including Broadway musicals, comedies, and dramas.  The Lafayette Theatre Academy produces three main productions, offers special performances throughout the season, and provides all students a chance to take the stage during their showcases.

Contributions from our generous LSPA supporters allow us to consistently provide entertainment at a level of excellence that is uncommon for a community of our size.  Ticket sales only cover 57% of the overall cost for our annual productions.  Without your assistance, productions such as the Lafayette Ballet Company’s stunning presentation of The Nutcracker would not be possible.

Your continued support not only assists with LSPA’s public performances, but also allows us to continue providing resources and opportunities beyond traditional instruction.  Throughout the year, professional artists are brought to LSPA to teach special workshops and intensives.  Students are able to travel to other schools, performances, and conferences on state, regional, and national levels.  We are also able to offer classes and special performances for students and guests with unique abilities and needs.  Furnishing students with high-quality equipment, facilities, and supplies is another need met by our supporters.

On behalf of LSPA, our affiliate organizations, our dedicated Board of Directors, and the communities we serve, we thank you for your generosity!  Thank you also for your belief in our mission made tangible each day through your donations. As the year comes to a close, we hope you will thoughtfully consider supporting our annual fundraising campaign by donating online at http://www.lsparts.org/Donate/Donate.html with just a simple click of the mouse. Whether you purchase a ticket, provide a personal tax-deductible donation, or offer in-kind services, it is because of your generous support that LSPA is able to continue offering quality programing and performance opportunities to the community we serve.

All the Best,
